BESTI heard that Park Güell should have an open run when there aren't many people, so I quickly bought a fast-track admission ticket from WAUG! I didn't have to wait in line, so I got in quickly and enjoyed the sights while it was cool! I highly recommend it to anyone who couldn't make a reservation in a hurry or wants to go early in the morning!
landmarks of barcelona,
Park Guell
Park Güell , an icon of Barcelona, is a park built at the request of Eusebi Güell, a patron of Gaudí. Located high on a hill, it was originally a community for wealthy Spanish people, but after Gaudí's death in 1926, it was opened for all to see.
Enjoy beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea while appreciating Gaudí's unique natural and organic architectural style.
A must visit in Barcelona,
Gaudi's Park Güell
Park Guell is a place that anyone preparing for a trip to Barcelona will have heard of at least once. It is a natural theme park designed by genius architect Gaudi. Unlike the grand and splendid appearance of Sagrada Familia, Park Güell is a building that maximizes the beauty of nature and adds colorful highlights.
It is truly an impressive place as it is a natural theme park that is most harmonious with nature, and is a place where you can get a glimpse of Gaudí's genius. So I definitely recommend you go.
Find out more about Park Güell
Park Güell is divided into a paid area and a free area. The interior is much bigger than you might think, so it's not easy to see everything in one day, and I recommend only looking at the paid areas to see meaningful works.
Entry to the paid area is currently possible through the central plaza at the back entrance and requires quite a long walk. If you look at the map, you will enter Area A and walk to the central square. It is longer than you think, so I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
It all starts with a lizard statue
Do you know the superstition about the lizards and statues in the central fountain at the park's main entrance? The lizard symbolizes alchemy, and the snake head with bronze horns symbolizes Aesculapius, the god of medicine. There is a superstition that touching this snake's head will bring good luck, so feel free to touch it with a proof shot!
Park Güell occupies an incredibly large area, so you can find hidden attractions everywhere. Enjoy the scenery where palm trees, nature, and architecture all come together in harmony.
doric column
What is unique about the central square is the 86 pillars that support it. The top of the pillar is decorated with four suns made of bottles and stones, which are said to represent the four seasons. It's full of surprises to see how they came up with this idea.
fantastic view point
Just in time for the sunset, face the Spanish beach from the view point overlooking the central square. That scene is the image that immediately comes to mind when we think of Park Güell! Take some healing time during your trip in a fantastic park covered in colorful colors.
