The Sintra National Palace, first built in the 14th century, is located about 20 kilometers from the capital city of Lisbon. It also offers a panoramic view of the Pena Castle and the beautiful garden of Montserrat. Sintra was the center of European Romantic architecture in the 19th century, and the architecture is a good blend of Gothic, Mudejar, and Manueline styles.
