Introducing how to ride the Peak Tram
The fastest and most convenient way to get to Victoria Peak is by taking the Peak Tram. You can reach the 550m high street in just 7 minutes. Well then, let me introduce you to how to get on the Peak Tram!
To ride the Peak Tram, you have to go to the ‘Peak Tram Station’ on the ground. If you search for The Peak Tram on Google Maps, you can think of the location that appears as the boarding point. The distance from Central is less than 10 minutes, so it's closer than you think.
It is convenient to purchase tickets in advance.
When you go to The Peak Tram Station, there are so many people waiting. So, rather than purchasing tickets locally, it is better to purchase them from WAUG first. WAUG tickets allow you to enter directly with a QR code without stopping at the ticket office, so you can save time waiting in line.
Small boarding tips that are good to know
This 6th generation Peak Tram is green! The inside is much cleaner than before. There is a useful tip when boarding: I recommend sitting on the right side of the direction of travel . That way, you can go up while looking at the night view or scenery of Hong Kong.
You can sit wherever you want in the order of boarding, rather than assigned seats. It's only 7 minutes, but the night view of Hong Kong on the way up is really beautiful.
Fantastic night view of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak
If you take the tram to Victoria Peak, you can see a truly fantastic night view of Hong Kong. If you visit in open weather, you will see a truly beautiful view. There are quite a few people watching Hong Kong’s famous ‘Symphony of Light’ here.
A good place to see the Symphony of Light at 8 p.m.
The best place to see the Symphony of Light in Hong Kong is Sky Terrace 428 Observatory. This is a 360-degree observatory on the top floor of the Peak Tower, where you can see the night view of Hong Kong and the Symphony of Lights from an open air.
As it gets crowded around 8pm, I recommend going up before 7pm to see the Symphony of Light. When 8 o'clock approaches, there are too many people and you may not be able to see the Symphony of Light properly.
Be sure to buy it from WAUG!
