The largest museum in Singapore,
Asian Civilizations Museum
The Singapore Asian Civilizations Museum is located on the banks of the Singapore River and is a pale yellow neoclassical building that was previously used as a court. It is one of the four major museums in Singapore, and in 2014, it was the only museum in Singapore to be selected as one of the top 10 Asian museums, making it one of the first museums in the Nanyang region to study pan-Asian culture and civilization.
The museum primarily studies the history of civilizations in China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia, and displays a variety of works, including exquisite ceramic figurines, Taoist and Buddhist statues, imported porcelain, calligraphy, and other decorative arts. Visit the Asian Civilization Museum and understand the development and cultural history of Asia during each period!
There are the most Asian exhibits!
As the name suggests, the Singapore Museum of Asian Civilizations is a place where you can see various cultures and civilizations of Asia. It is a place where you can see a huge number of exhibits, including ceramics, statues, and Buddhist works from China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia.
Why we recommend it!
The reason why it's good to visit the Asian Civilization Museum is because you can see and learn in depth about various cultures in Asia. Each floor has a different concept.
First floor :
We come across relics of a shipwreck that was wrecked while traveling to the Middle East during the Tang Dynasty.
Second floor :
You can see relics from various ethnic groups in Southeast Asia in one place.
3rd Floor :
In the jewelry and fashion hall, you can see jewelry and clothing from each country at once.
Asian Civilization Museum with a variety of things to see! I highly recommend taking some time to see it during your trip.
NOW! Special exhibition information
"We are exhibiting 29 embroidery works and 20 Chinese art collections by China's representative fashion designer Guo Fei. Designer Guo Fei founded her brand “Rose Square” in Beijing in 1997. Her works are contemporary. Showing a unique insight into traditional fashion and aesthetics, she is a talented designer who designed Angelabay's wedding dress and the 2008 Beijing Olympic performance costumes. The dresses she designed are famous for their three-dimensional sculptures, and each piece represents elements of Chinese imperial culture, Mother Nature, and more. “Many other unique wedding dresses are presented for the first time at the exhibition, each with a story that even involves life itself.”
