About Terelj National Park

Terelj National Park is one of the must-visit destinations for Mongolian travelers and is located approximately 70km from the capital, Ulaanbaatar. Terelj National Park is one of the popular tourist destinations because it is the closest place to see Mongolia's natural appearance and scenery from Ulaanbaatar. It is a travel destination where you can see various attractive features of Mongolia, such as the landscape of the wide grasslands of Mongolia, the mountains mixed with rocks and forests, the livestock of nomadic peoples found in the grasslands, and the traditional Mongolian ger.

Milky Way in Ger

Mongolia has changed from a traditional nomadic society to today's society living in fixed houses centered in large cities. However, even now, most residents living in the grasslands outside of the capital, Ulan Bator, live in gers. A ger is a portable tent house in the form of a round tent made of wool felt and white cloth with wooden walls. Although modern apartments began to be built in the 1960s, only 60% of Mongolians still live in apartments, with the remaining 40% living in gers. You can experience the ger yourself.

You can also see the beautiful Milky Way at night. Mongolia is famous as one of the world's top three constellation observation destinations, and you can systematically observe constellations through the constellation observation program.
