Tour to meet fantastic stars
Hawaii is famous for its romance on the blue sea and exciting activities during the day, but it is also popular because the beautiful sky at night is another attraction. Many tourists from all over the world visit Kona Mauna Kea on the Big Island to see the night sky. For star gazing, climb up to 6,500 feet and observe the stars with the 11-inch Celestron telescope. Take in the sights you can't easily see in the city with your family and friends!
Climb to the top of Maukenia
The summit of Mauna Kea, the world's tallest mountain, at about 14,000 feet above sea level, is the best place to view fantastic stargazing along with some of the most beautiful sunset views in the world. In particular, you can experience the beauty gifted by Mother Nature at Mauna Kea, known as one of the sacred places in Hawaii. It is an experience you will never forget, even if it is a once in a lifetime experience.
The tour goes like this
The tour departs from the Kona area and travels for approximately 30 minutes along the lava-shaped coastline to the entrance of Mauna Kea. When you enter Saddle Road, which connects Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, you can see dramatic and diverse volcanic plants and landforms.
When we reach an altitude of about 9,000 feet, we take a short break and then move again for about 40 minutes. Watch the sunset and then return to the visitor center at 9,000 feet to admire the endless stars in the night sky!
