BESTI think the National Gallery is a place worth visiting. Unfortunately, there was no explanation in Korean, but it is very spacious and entry is quick if you make a reservation.
Europe's three major art museums,
National Gallery, London
Let me introduce you to the National Gallery, one of the three major art museums in Europe where you can see the history of Western art at a glance. The National Gallery is an art gallery located in Trafalgar Square. It opened in 1824 and has been loved by the public ever since. It exhibits over 2,300 works from the mid-13th century to the 1900s. From religious paintings to impressionism, you can see masterpieces filled with the souls of artists.
The self-guided audio tour provides audio headsets to listen to the live guide, allowing you to explore the National Gallery at your own pace, either slowly or quickly.
The National Gallery's Collection
The National Gallery in London is famous for its art collection, and it houses works by various artists from the 13th to the 19th century. In particular, you can see works by famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Michelangelo, Titian, and Rembrandt, so it is always visited by travelers from all over the world.
Is the permanent collection free?
The National Gallery is divided into permanent and special collections.
The permanent collection is free to the public, but the crowds are so intense that there is usually a wait of at least an hour (hence the priority admission). Special exhibitions are held regularly, often featuring works by world-renowned artists or on specific themes.
Why I recommend this ticket
The National Gallery is always really crowded, so it takes more than an hour just to get in. However, if you buy the ticket, you can go through the Getty entrance (group entrance) and go straight in after passing through security, so you can get priority entry.
When traveling, time is more important than money, so I highly recommend purchasing it.
