BESTI ordered seasonal Tang Tofu, but the raw fish in the entire dish wasn't fresh, and the Tang Tofu was just tofu dipped in water with lemon and dipped in soy sauce. A meal that lacks taste or quality compared to the price.
It has been going on for over a thousand years,
Nanzenji Junsei, the essence of Kyoto tofu cuisine
Nanzenji Junsei is a tofu restaurant with a history of over 120 years. You can enjoy authentic tofu dishes in a uniquely Japanese atmosphere, and you can feel the four seasons of Kyoto with all five senses with the main dish, Kyoto's famous Yuba.
Must-visit restaurants in Kyoto,
Junsei Nanzenji
Enjoy a meal at a restaurant with over 120 years of history, featuring famous tofu and yuba as the main dishes! Made with soybeans from Kyoto, Japan, and made with genuine tofu and yuba as the broth, it's great as a meal.

Reasons to visit Nanzenji Junsei
Nanzenji Junsei is a place where you can enjoy delicious tofu dishes, but Nanzenji Shoin, located on the Junsei grounds, is a registered national tangible cultural property. It is said to be a building built in the Edo period, so even if you don’t like tofu dishes, Nanzenji Shoin is a place you must visit.
About cooking
Nanzenji Junsei is a bit pricey, but once you taste the restaurant’s atmosphere and the food, you won’t feel that it’s expensive at all. The clean and neat setting, the crispy vegetables that start the meal, the raw fish, and the main dish, the light tofu, have a much softer texture than the tofu you get in Korea.
Afterwards, dishes such as rice, soybean paste soup, and pickled vegetables are served, and they are all so neat that anyone will be satisfied.
