If you travel to the Greek island of Lindos, check out the Lindos Acropolis, a must-visit! This is the only historic site on the island of Lindos, built as a tribute to the ancient Greek Acropolis and the goddess Athena. Unlike other historic sites in Greece, it is special in that it was built while preserving the ancient ruins in their intact form without significantly damaging them. It is also famous as a place to enjoy beautiful natural scenery.

Introduction to major attractions

Temple of Athena Lindia:
Located at the center of the Acropolis of Lindos, this temple was built around 300 BC and is dedicated to the goddess Athena. Currently, only the pillars and some walls remain, but you can get a glimpse of its grandeur.

Castle of the Knights of Saint John:
This fortress was built by the Knights of St. John in the 14th century to defend the Acropolis of Lindos. The walls, towers, and internal buildings are well preserved, and it is a place where you can enjoy beautiful views.

Ancient Theater:
The ancient theater, located on the northern slope of the Acropolis of Lindos, was built during the Hellenistic period and could seat about 1,800 people.

Byzantine Church:
Within the Acropolis, there are remains of a small church built during the Byzantine period.
