At Noboribetsu Bear Ranch in Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido, about 70 bears are currently living leisurely(?). This bear specialty ranch, which is rare in the world, has a lot of things to see, including an observatory overlooking a beautiful lake, and displays about 500 pieces of information about the history, habits, and ecology of bears.
The village of Yukara preserves the precious cultural heritage of the indigenous Ainu people and faithfully reproduces the lifestyle of the early Meiji period. Take the cable car up
Noboribetsu Bear Ranch is unique in that you have to take a cable car up there. You have to take the cable car up for about 10 minutes to reach the village where the bears live. You can see the beautiful scenery of Noboribetsu, so it's a good place to travel leisurely.
Meet various bears
Noboribetsu Bear Ranch is currently home to about 70 bears! It's so big that you'll be surprised by the size of the bear you actually see. Of course, you can meet everyone from fully grown bears to baby bears. And it's nice to be able to see bears from such a close distance.
