The National Weiwuying Arts and Cultural Center in Kaohsiung is the most important arts and culture center in southern Taiwan, and is a cultural icon and a source of artistic inspiration for the region. Here, you can enjoy regular tours that introduce the building’s history, artistic design, and key spaces, as well as a hall tour that introduces the performance hall. In addition, regular tours are offered every Saturday in Japanese and English.

Wei Wuying National Art and Culture Center
The National Wei Wu Ying Arts and Cultural Center is an iconic space for arts and culture located in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan. It is one of the largest performing arts centers in Taiwan and one of the largest and best performing arts centers in Asia. It is considered a top performing arts center representing Asia in terms of its size and facilities, and it has established itself as an important cultural hub offering diverse artistic experiences. It has four main performance spaces, where performances of various genres and scales are held.
Unique architectural design
One of the most distinctive features of the Weiwuying National Art and Culture Center is its unique architectural design inspired by nature. Weiwuying was designed based on the image of a banyan tree, and Banyan Tree Plaza was designed as an open and spacious space where everyone can enjoy art together, just like people gathering under a tree. The building’s exterior features soft curves and flowing lines, blending in harmoniously with the surrounding nature. This space functions as an open space where people can move freely, converse, and experience art.

This tour is led by a professional guide fluent in each language, who explains the architectural beauty of Weiwuying and the artistic meaning of its spaces.
3. Hall Tour
This tour explores Weiwuying's four main performance halls - the Opera House, Concert Hall, Playhouse, and Recital Hall - and explains the unique design and functions of each space.
