Coexistence of animals and humans,
calgary zoo
Visit the Calgary Wild Institute Zoo, where you can enjoy a variety of events such as animal feeding experiences and penguin walking shows. Thanks to the wide space provided to mimic the animals’ natural habitats, there are a variety of species, from mammals such as rock hyraxes and giraffes to insects.
With my family,
Time to explore animals
The Calgary Wilder Research Institute Zoo is a great place for families. Located on St. George Island, it is a five-minute drive from downtown Calgary and 20 minutes from Calgary International Airport. You can see over 4,000 animals from all over the world.
March of the Penguins
Since the penguins were introduced in 2012, the zoo has had a special event. Every winter, you can see the emperor penguins walking outside their habitat along the Royal Promenade inside the zoo. The time available varies depending on the penguins’ condition and the weather, but try to visit the area at 10:30 a.m. on a possible day.
A space for children
The zoo has not only animals, but also places to shop, restaurants, and a small playground for children. Shop for dolls, toys, games, books, and other items to make lasting memories back home. There is a small playground for children in Bugtopia, so you can have fun at the zoo.
