With the largest collection of art in the world,
Uffizi Gallery
The Uffizi Gallery has one of the largest collections of art in the world and is a destination you should never miss when traveling to Florence. The Uffizi Gallery was originally built by the Medici family as an administrative office, but became an art museum under Francesco Medici. Afterwards, a huge collection of works began to be collected, and thanks to the Medici family's passion for art and culture, a great art museum was completed.
The Uffizi Gallery consists of the second and third floors. The exhibition room on the second floor displays sketches by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, and the third floor displays paintings and sculptures. Admire world-class masterpieces at the Uffizi Gallery.
A must-visit art museum in Florence,
Uffizi Gallery
The Uffizi Gallery is famous for being the most visited among Italian art museums. From Byzantine art to the Renaissance, you can see a total of 2,500 masterpieces, including works by famous artists such as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Giotto, da Vinci, and Raphael.
The Uffizi Gallery, visited by more than 2 million visitors every year, is always crowded with people. Purchase a fast-track admission ticket at WAUG and conveniently enter at the designated time.
I recommend viewing from the 3rd floor.
Most of the popular works of the Uffizi Gallery are on the 3rd floor, so we recommend viewing from the 3rd floor immediately after entering. The Uffizi Gallery is a series of long corridors connected in an 'ㄷ' shape, so it is best to view them in the order in which they are moved. The hallway is richly decorated with full-length statues of gods from Greek and Roman mythology and portraits of people who supported the Medici family.
Exhibition rooms worth noting are exhibition room 3 with Martini's 'Annunciation', the Botticelli exhibition room in the middle, next to it, exhibition room 15 by Leonardo da Vinci, exhibition room 25 by Michelangelo, exhibition room 26 with Raphael's works, and exhibition room 26 by Titian. This is exhibition room 28, where ‘Venus of Urbino’ is located. You must not miss this place!
Introducing the most popular exhibition rooms
The most popular exhibition room in the Uffizi Gallery is Exhibition Room 7, where you can see paintings from the Florentine School, which was at the beginning of the 15th century Renaissance. Here, you can see the works of Masaccio, who is called the master of perspective, and Paolo Uccello, who studied perspective drawing.
Don’t miss exhibition rooms 3 and 4. Here you can see Duccio's paintings and the works of his students Simone Martini and Rosenzetti. Next, in exhibition rooms 5 and 6, you can see International Gothic style paintings from the 15th century, including ‘The Adoration of the Magi’ by Gentile da Fabriano and Lorenzo Monaco.
