The Eiffel Tower - an absolute must-see on any trip to Paris. But where are the best spots to capture stunning photos with the Iron Lady as your backdrop and soak in the romantic Parisian atmosphere? This WAUG editor shares their firsthand experiences to bring you the best places in Paris to view the Eiffel Tower.
01. Trocadéro Gardens (Palais de Chaillot)
More commonly known as the Trocadéro, this hilltop square offers arguably the most iconic view of the Eiffel Tower. Stand at the edge of the square, and you'll have an unobstructed view of the tower, making it a top spot for commemorative photos. With several palaces in the vicinity, you can combine sightseeing with Eiffel Tower viewing. This is an absolute must-visit.
How to get there:
A 4-minute walk from Trocadéro station on metro lines 6 and 9.
02. Montmartre
From atop Montmartre, you can enjoy views of the Eiffel Tower, the Montparnasse Tower, and the Parisian cityscape all at once. Since Montmartre is a bit further from the city center, joining a tour is a great option. I highly recommend WAUG's Orsay Museum + Montmartre tour. You'll have a Korean guide for a safe and insightful experience, and you'll get to see Montmartre during the magical twilight hours. If you choose to visit Montmartre on your own, be sure to relax on the steps in front of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and soak in the views.
How to get there:
A 6-minute walk from Abbesses station on metro line 12.
03. Montparnasse Tower
For the most breathtaking 360° panoramic views of Paris, head to the Montparnasse Tower observation deck. From here, you can spot not only the Eiffel Tower but also the Louvre Museum, the Arc de Triomphe, and all of Paris's major landmarks. It's especially famous for its stunning sunset views, when the city is bathed in soft, pastel hues. Enjoying the romantic Parisian scenery from the rooftop with a chilled glass of sparkling wine in hand is an experience not to be missed.
