Taipei is renowned for its abundance of beautiful and aesthetically pleasing cafes. From vintage havens to sleek, futuristic spaces that feel like they belong in 2030, Taipei's cafe scene has something for everyone. Today, I'm sharing some of the hottest cafes that were trending in 2019.
01. Woolloomooloo
Taipei is home to two Woolloomooloo cafes. It's a hugely popular brunch spot, but the one near Taipei 101 Tower in the Xinyi District is particularly popular. The Xinyi District branch of Woolloomooloo boasts a truly ultra-modern aesthetic.
Beyond the stunning interiors, their coffee is also highly acclaimed. The menu offers a detailed breakdown of coffee options, allowing you to choose not only from various sizes but also the level of acidity. As a brunch haven, Woolloomooloo offers a wide variety of brunch dishes. Their most popular items fall under the breakfast category. With its flawless interiors and delicious food and drinks, a visit to Woolloomooloo followed by a trip up the nearby Taipei 101 অবজারভেটরি is highly recommended.

02. Cafe Merci
If Woolloomooloo is a modern cafe, Merci is pure vintage. Tucked away in a hard-to-find alley, you'll need to pay close attention to your map to locate it. Step through the doors of Merci, and you'll be transported to another world. The charmingly arranged knick-knacks and vintage ambiance make it undeniably Instagram-worthy and a perfect spot for photos. The vintage vibes are palpable even in photos, and while their coffee is great, their milk and cream-laden bread is the real star. Make sure you try it!

03. Cheevit Cheeva Cafe
This cafe was a real discovery during this editor's Taipei cafe tour. Cheevit Cheeva Cafe, which opened in 2017, has been gaining a lot of traction recently. Located near Taipei 101, it offers both indoor seating and a well-placed terrace. While you might expect a cafe to be known for its coffee, Cheevit Cheeva is famous for its honey toast and shaved ice (bingsu). If you're looking for a place with stylish interiors and delicious shaved ice, look no further than Cheevit Cheeva.
