Buses are the most budget-friendly option for traveling between Taipei and Kaohsiung, with travel times similar to the TRA. If you're looking to save money, taking the bus is a great choice. Major bus companies include Ubus, Kuo-Kuang, and Ho-Hsin. Keep in mind that traffic can cause delays, so it's best to allow extra time for your journey.
