Sintra must-see destinations,
Montserrat Palace and Gardens
Visit Montserrat Palace, one of the summer resorts of the Portuguese royal family. It was built in 1858 by order of King Louis, and the design inspired by the Mogul style is overwhelming. The wonderful circular tower, dome cupola, and exotic decorations are reminiscent of British Romantic architecture. The garden has a variety of beautiful lakes and gorgeous fountains, and the interior is a mixture of Islamic and Mughal styles. Additionally, the domed ceiling of the main hall is decorated with Moorish and Italian style carvings that are truly gorgeous.
Enjoy Montserrat Palace more comfortably by purchasing a fast-track admission ticket from WAUG to avoid waiting in line.
