The Mall Antonelliana, an architectural symbol of Turin, was initially conceived as a synagogue and was purchased by the city to become a monument to national unity. This building, designed and started in 1863 by architect Alessandro Antonelli, was only completed in 1889.
The Mall Antonelliana, which was the tallest stone building in Europe at the time with a height of 167.5m, had a panoramic lift opened in 1961 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Italian unification. Renovated in 1999, the building still allows visitors to climb the small 85-metre temple for unique views of the city and surrounding Alps.
You can go up the stairs of the Cupola Hall to the panoramic terrace, so be sure to visit!
